The Body Hotel Call for group members A monthly movement workshop in Edinburgh for people who want to 'check-in' to their bodies and explore new ways of moving, thinking and being. Each month will feature a different theme to explore in terms of the body, incorporating practical techniques from body awareness, relaxation, dance movement therapy and somatic practices with the purpose to get to know ourselves through our bodies. Its an opportunity to encounter each other and delve deeper into the body-mind connection in a safe, fun and relaxing way; 'checking-out' from the daily stress of our lives. Led by: Thania Acarón, R-DMP, BC-DMT The Body Hotel group is looking for members who are willing to commit to at least four of the six monthly sessions (although priority will be given to those who can make all six), in order to foster a consistent community space. Thania is an active performer, choreographer and dance movement therapist, currently pursuing a PhD as part of Interdisciplinary Approaches to Violence Programme at the University of Aberdeen. She is also a lecturer and clinical supervisor at the MSc Programme in Dance Movement Psychotherapy at Queen Margaret University. Originally from Puerto Rico, Thania has an M.A. in Dance Education from New York University, and is a registered clinical supervisor and dance movement therapist in the US and UK.
